aims

The ICCG gathers international researchers and academics, climate change policy experts, negotiators, representatives of international and national institutions, environmental and social NGOs to discuss the political and economic dimensions of climate change. Special emphasis is given to the positions of various stakeholders to identify an area of shared interests that may evolve into concrete policy proposals in the field of climate change mitigation and adaptation.

In particular, the ICCG focuses on:

IMPACTS - Climate change long-term impacts on socio-economic systems and their institutions
CHANGES - Sectoral and geographical distribution of these impacts, and the global repercussions of the consequent structural changes
POLICY - International climate policy negotiations and the definition of governance models to control climate change

The ICCG develops its activities through the organisation of events of international relevance, workshops, lectures, policy meetings, and the implementation of training courses targeted to researchers and government officials from developing countries.

Several other activities, such as art exhibitions, cultural debates, and interdisciplinary observatories are specifically conceived to involve various actors, and to inform the general public. These events are characterized by an interdisciplinary and intercultural participation; the main focus being therefore on the integration of the social, political, cultural, and economic dimensions of the climate change problem.

Furthermore, the ICCG produces policy briefs, workshop reports, discussion papers, and proposals to enhance the effectiveness of climate policy.
