Prof. Carlo Carraro, Director of the ICCG and Chair of FEEM Scientific Advisory Board, joins the Advisory Committee of the Green Growth Knowledge Platform.

The Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) - a joint effort of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and World Bank (WB) - is a new platform aimed at enhancing and expanding efforts to address major knowledge gaps in green growth theory and practice, and to help countries design and implement policies to move towards a green economy.

Green growth means fostering economic growth and development, while ensuring that natural assets continue to provide the resources and environmental services on which our well-being relies. GGKP focuses on the synergies and tradeoffs between the environmental and economic pillars of sustainable development, aiming at being a catalyst of knowledge-generating initiatives and programs within a wide range of research agencies, experts, researchers and pratictioners.

As a member of the Advisory Committee, composed of well-known leading actors of the global academic and policy communities involved in Green Growth analysis or practice, Prof. Carlo Carraro will be called to advise the GGKP on the most pressing research needs for the design and implementation of green growth policies.

GGKP's first major event will be its Inaugural Conference, to be held January 12-13, 2012, in Mexico City.
