Description:

On November 30th, 2015, from 12.30, the Milan offices of Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei will host the presentation of the book: “Il clima che cambia. Non solo un problema ambientale“, by Carlo Carraro and Alessandra Mazzai, published by Il Mulino.

The global average temperature has been constantly rising over the last 100 years. More and more frequently environmental disasters have hit various regions around the globe, drastically affecting the lives of millions of people. Climate change is probably one of the most pressing and imminent economic problems the world is facing right now, more urgent even than international financial crises or mass unemployment. Will we be able to stop this trend? And how?

Coinciding with the 2015 Paris Climate Conference (COP21 November 30 – December 11), a critical step towards a universal and legally binding agreement on climate, an expert panel on climate policies and economics will discuss the effects climate change has, not only on the environment but also on people’s lives and on society in general.  In order to understand how sustainable development can be achieved in the future, it becomes necessary to have a closer look at the past.
