Climate Change, Influencing the Health of Urban Populations

Cities are facing the impacts of climate change and consequently faced with the demand to address it. However, policy has typically focused on the economic and social impacts of climate change. Recently, there has been a call for healthy cities as means to address climate change in urban environments. Thus this paper looks at the impacts of climate change on human health in urban environment. Then discusses how cities can address human health and climate change through the social determinants of health and the WHO’s Healthy Cities Guidelines.
