International Forum on Climate Governance

The "International Forum on Climate Governance" (IFCG) is a project coordinated by the Climate Impacts and Policy Division of the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change (CMCC) and funded by the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Land Protection.

The IFCG aims to spark a debate on initiatives at the international level, designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to support the adaptation of the economic and environmental systems to the changing climate patterns.

The activities of the IFCG are developed through the organisation of events of international relevance, seminars, round tables, workshops and the implementation of a training programme targeted to researchers and government officials from developing countries.

The events are characterised by interdisciplinary and intercultural participation with the contributions of experts in different disciplines from different world regions. The crucial common denominator is the interaction with the national and international political institutions and with NGOs and company organisations.

The themes on the agenda are analysed from both a scientific and a political approach. Special emphasis are placed on the positions of the various stakeholders in view of identifying an area of shared interests that may evolve into concrete policy proposals in the field of climate change mitigation and adaptation.
